Every knitter with a moderately sized yarn stash will eventually face the bane of crazy yarn. Whether it was a gift, an impulse buy, or an inheritance from another knitter's spring cleaning, crazy yarn can be incredibly frustrating for knitters. I'm talking about yarn that is too fuzzy, too sparkly, or too colorful to reasonably use for a hat or scarf. This leaves us wracking our brains trying to figure out how to put it to good use.

Well, worry no more. I'm about to give you five tasteful project ideas to use up that crazy yarn.

Baby Booties

Baby booties are a great way to put your crazy yarn to good use, because babies can pull off bright colors and fluffy textures better than adults can. Additionally, we tend to give more leeway on crazy socks than on any other piece of clothing. Consider it, if a baby is wearing a crazy fluffy/colorful/sparkly hat, everyone will comment on it. If they're wearing crazy socks, on the other hand, people will just say they're cute.

Speaking of socks, the same concept applies for adults: socks are the most acceptable piece of clothing to go a little crazy with. Instead of looking like a crazy yarn lady, you'll just look a little quirky. Besides, fuzzy yarns are best for keeping your feet nice and toasty.

Yarn Cozy

Want to enjoy your yarn without physically wearing it? Make some knitting accessories! This yarn cozy is super simple to make, as it's just a knit rectangle and some icord, and it stops your yarn from tangling while pulling from the center. By making this cozy, you can enjoy your crazy yarn over and over without it ever leaving the house.

Knitting Needle Storage

This is another knitting accessory worth using up your crazy yarn. In fact, the crazier the better, so you'll never lose your knitting needles.

Children's Toys

When it comes to children's toys, the more outrageous they are, the more kids love them. Choose bold colors, sparkles, or insane fluff, and kids are sure to love it.
